Sarah runs a group called Relax Kids which is about promoting healthy minds in children of all ages. It can be used with adults too. It provides a way to teach children about dealing with feelings such as stress, anxiety and anger at the same time as getting them to have fun and to grow in confidence and self esteem. A 7 step approach is used to help take children from high energy to low energy (& a feeling of calm) through a series of fun games and exercises. We warm up and play games; we stretch and learn massage techniques. We learn breathing exercises to aid relaxation of the mind and body and use positive affirmations to increase confidence and self-esteem. Finally we lie down and listen to a guided visualisation, which helps to promote deep relaxation.
